How can I moderate comments?
Each module has several options for moderating comments. On the “Settings” page in each module you can turn off/on comments, set what to do when you receive a comment (automatically approve, author must have previously approved comment, or administrator must approve), expiration options (never expire, 3 months, 1 month, 2 weeks), notification options (email all, email author of the entry, no email, or email a specific person). Additionally under the global “Settings” tab of the entire website you can validate the comment against: A Word Filter that you designate with a comma separated list of words, A Bad Words text file that holds many commonly used bad words and their misspellings, and Akismet, if you provide your API key.
Why am I getting spam comments?
Unfortunately, receiving comment spam has become equally as likely as receiving email spam. Allowing a public comment form on your website gives access to spam bots. That being said, Reflect has several commenting moderation techniques in place to combat spam.
Can I set when commenting expires on an entry?
On each entry page you have the option to enable comments with the expiration options to never expire, expire in 3 months, 1 month or 2 weeks.
How can I edit or delete a comment?
For each module, there is a “Comments” link in the sidebar. Clicking to that page shows comments across all entries in that module. From there you can edit, delete or mark/unmark a comment as spam.
How can I change who is notified when a comment is posted?
Each module has its own set of notification rules. You can email all authors, email the author of the entry, no email at all, or email a specific person. View the notification settings on the “Settings” page inside a module.
